The short answer

The simplest accommodation in Gloucester with parking is a home with its own space, as most city centre car parks have height barriers and some close in the evening. Four of the five Esho Stays homes in Gloucester have a drive or allocated space. The fifth uses on-street parking with a permit we arrange.

How do parking permits work at Gloucester accommodation?

Some residential streets in Gloucester, including parts of Kingsholm, have permit parking. At our one-bedroom annex, we arrange a permit for you once you send the vehicle registration before arrival.

Permits are tied to the registration, so tell us if you change cars during the stay. On Gloucester Rugby home match days, streets around Kingsholm are busier, so park and leave the car where it is.

Can you park a van at Gloucester accommodation?

A small van fits at most of our Gloucester homes with a space or drive. Long or high-roof vans need checking first, because the townhouse drive is tight and most city car parks are too low.

Contractors with vans should read our guide to contractor accommodation with van parking, which covers heights, drives and tool security.

Frequently asked questions

Is parking free at your Gloucester homes?

Yes. Parking at our Gloucester homes is included in the nightly price, whether it is a drive, an allocated space or an on-street permit we arrange. There are no extra parking charges from us. Pay car parks in the city centre are separate, if you choose to use them.

Can I charge an electric car at your Gloucester homes?

Our Gloucester homes do not list dedicated EV chargers. Ask us before you book, and we will suggest public charging points near the home you choose. Please do not run charging cables across a pavement or shared path, as this is a trip hazard for neighbours.

Is there overnight parking in Gloucester city centre?

Some city centre car parks allow overnight parking and some do not. Westgate does not permit overnight parking, and Castlemeads is locked at 7pm. The Forum car park is open and charging 24 hours. Staying in a home with its own space avoids the question.

How many cars can we bring?

Most of our Gloucester homes have one space, and the four-bedroom townhouse has a drive for two cars in tandem. If your group has more vehicles, tell us when you enquire and we will suggest the nearest car park or on-street options for the extra cars.
