A dog-friendly weekend in the Cotswolds works best from a house with a garden, close to walks where dogs are allowed off the lead. In Cirencester, two Esho Stays homes take dogs by arrangement: a three-bedroom house from £130 a night and a five-bedroom house from £195.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a pet fee at your Cirencester homes?
Yes, an extra fee applies for pets, and we confirm it before you book. The amount depends on the home, the length of stay and the number of pets. Tell us about your dog when you enquire, so the fee is included in your quote.
Can dogs go off the lead at Westonbirt Arboretum?
Yes, in Silk Wood, as long as they stay under control, in sight and come back when called. Dogs must be on a lead on the central downs and are not allowed in the Old Arboretum. Check the current rules with Westonbirt before your visit.
Can I bring two dogs?
Often yes, but ask first. The five-bedroom house suits two dogs better than smaller homes, thanks to its enclosed garden. Tell us the breeds and sizes, and we will confirm which home works for you and your dogs. The pet fee may depend on the number of dogs.
Are dogs allowed in Cotswold pubs?
Many Cotswold pubs welcome dogs in the bar or garden, but not all, and some restrict them to certain areas. Ask before you sit down, and keep your dog on a lead and away from food areas. Water bowls by the door are a good sign.
